Took a charter out Friday Heading offshore Friday, a little concerned about the weather. A storm can in while we were loading the truck. Headed out around 5am in choppy seas. we could only run about 22mph going south. it took about 3 hours to get to 250 feet. Picked up 2 Mahi around 9:30. No bite for a couple of hours so I head east trying to get to 500 feet. Found some good water around 12noon; flyers everywhere and a little weed and trash, just mainly fishing slick water. The choppy seas made it hard to locate rips. The action started around 1:30 We had several triple hookups and put some solid Mahi in the boat. It was Greg’s first trip offshore for Mahi.
We ended up hooking up about 17 good Mahi and put 13 in the boat. We had to leave the spot with fish following the boat. I knew it would be a 3 hour trip back home. Supper day with a great crew. HL, Bob, Greg, Brian and Jared.
