Offshore next weekend

Was wondering if anyone has ever fished after a storm and how it usually is. If the seas are good I was going to go out but not sure what to expect and what to look for. I am overthinking this?

I am going if the weather looks good. Never been before but if the ocean calms down I will be out.

just look out for big debris that can put a hurting on your boat and your crew, especially running in the dark.

Is it even worth going to the gulf stream right now? I want to go but hadn’t heard of many fish being caught.

Aqua good point. Not going to run in the dark.
Chum-- I was going to troll in 120ft or so if I find a good weed line. Water should still be warm enough. Mostly looking to bottom fish actually.

We headed out after Bertha a few yrs ago, didnt seem to hurt the bottom fishing at all.

SAFMC you suck!

I’m going out tomorrow barring any surprises. Third trip offshore with (new to me) 20 foot Cobia. Going to do some exploring( trolling deads) but would prefer to bottom fish once I found some decent bottom. If anyone wants to Buddy up ,leaving Wappoo cut round 5 ish

Go BLUE! “I swear I’ll be back to the dock by dinner time”

Let us know how it goes. What depths you plan to target on your troll? If you go at sunrise you can catch all the live bait you want for troll or bottom fishing.

Whatever you do be careful of the debris out there. I guarantee you there is going to be more tree trunks, while trees and stumps floating miles offshore. Go slow and try not to run in the dark.

Made it out to Comanche, didn’t see any debris just lots of weeds scratered about, the weather man that did the marine forecast Sunday morning sure missed it, it was saying 1-2 ft waves and slight chance of rain in morning, well I’d say the waves were more in the 4 ft range, and got rained on twice on way back in that afternoon , couldn’t get reef anchor to hold, so we did some trolling with ballyhoo and managed to catch 3 barely legal dolphins, then my friend started to get weirded out about how far out we were and I had to cut trip short and head back in before he lost it, I’ve got to find someone to fish with who can handle being offshore and not freak out or get sick
