Offshore numbers trade

I know it’s bad form to ask for fishing numbers, but I’m asking anyway[:I] Forgive me.

I have a good friend who lives in the Tennessee mountains who just bought a Cape Horn 26. He asked me if I could meet him this weekend in Charleston for some fishing and diving and to check out his boat. The problem is, I’ve never fished offshore Charleston and except for the artificial reefs we have no numbers at all for live bottom ledges. We want to do some trolling, bottom fishing, and diving for lobsters.

If anyone would be willing to share some locations, or at least general areas we could hunt around in, it sure would be appreciated. I’ve got hundreds of good numbers off Savannah and would be willing to trade 5/1 for a few decent locations off Charleston. I promise not to ever share them with anyone, and I’m only likely to use them once or twice myself. Not asking for super secret spots, just some common ledge areas that most of you probably know.

Thanks for any help! LTeuton at aol dot com

if you have difficulty here, pick up a Maps Unique at Haddrells and ask the guys to point out some of the more productive areas…that wouldn’t get you flamed at all…

The “Top Spot” maps are also a very good place to start. I purchased one and I’ll be dogged if it didn’t have some of my secret spots!

I second the Maps Unique. Truly a great product showing you every area of known live bottom, rocks, etc. All the coordinates for every one of them as well. If you are bottom fishing, then the advice about asking someone to point out to you on the map what area’s are producing what is a great idea. But once they show you, you have your own map and coordinates to take with you.

Thanks to everyone for their replies and PMs.
I’m very familiar with Maps Unique and Top Spot, but was wanting something a little less public than that. The numbers I have to trade came from running charter boats for 15 years, not from public charts.

Fortunately a few of yall have really helped me out :sunglasses: I appreciate it!
