Went out today with dmszlam and topwater torres, were hoping for some grouper and snapper, fished in around 100 ft with cigars and squid. Picked at the blackfish and sharks moving from spot to spot. Finally picked up and ran inshore a bit, found an area loaded with loons, seagull, loggerheads, and sunfish. Started drifting through this area and picked up this guy to end the day. Nice day to be out there.
Dillon, could you see the fish on top or were the birds feeding?
Nice…
What depth was that one at? 100’
Loons were snaping at the surface, thought it was bonita at first until we got close, don’t know what they were feeding on, the bait was staying pretty deep. We were in about 95’ just SW of stono snapper hole.
nice red. do you have to vent them or are they already close to the surface when you catch them.
The older I get, the better I was.
Did not vent this fish, luckily he revived just fine and went right back down.
