Left Daniel Island Marina at 5:30 and found great conditions all the way to the Charleston 60. Had a barracuda hit a deep running plug 5 minutes after setting the lines and that was it for the 60. Decided to head to Comanche and ran into a bunch of boats in 70’ so decided to join the crowd. The kings were thick but hitting short. Put one nice fish in the boat and missed 4 or 5 due to short strikes or pulled hook. The fish quit so we headed to deeper water. Started seeing flying fish in 90 feet so put out the lines. Almost instant action and put another nice king in the box. Several more short strikes. We heard a radio report of bad weather so pulled lines at 1pm and headed in. Hit the storm about 25 miles from the jetties and “enjoyed” a spectacular lightning and wind show. Thankfully no damage to self or boat.
