Sorry for the late report but had to leave for New Orleans right after our trip.
Great first day of the year for us. We went south and started fishing in 350 feet with water temps between 74 and 77. Most activity was in 77 degrees. Great ride out water pretty calm. picked at them most of the day 1 per hour. had 2 double hook ups. Great sail fish on about mid morning in 350 feet. fought for about 20 minutes and got him to the side and removed the hook. No injuries to the sail for everyone concerned. trolling back in to 200 feet going back to the jetties we picked up 2 more in 200 feet.
Check out the photos Carson got an underwater shot with his gopro.
Check out Andy going off the back of the boat chasing a mahi in mid air. He slung the mahi in the fish box and the mahi did not like the accommodations so he bolted and Andy thought he could chase him down. Luckily the hook held and we re-boated the mahi.
Great crew Andy, Carson, Russell, Ryan.
