Offshore Sunday 6/10 late post

Left the dock at 6:15. Started running straight out saw the thunderstorm, so we turned south a little bit. I was sceptical about the storm so i stopped in 65’, and started fishing. I figured i would just try to catch some kings and call it a day. Well before i had all the lines in the water the left rigger snapped, and bam we had a peanut in the boat. Went on to catch 3 more decent gaffers and a rather small king. We never went deeper that 75’ due to gas issues and the weather. I was really surprised to see the dolhin in that close this early. We trolled back through one of the spots where we coaught the dolphin and had a huge hit the peeled my 3/0 senator then pulled the hook. My guess was a wahoo but i didnt think they would be in so far. It fought straight down so i knew it wasnt a dolphin. My girlfriend did a great job driving and doing her fair share of angling all day while my cousin and I ran the baits. Thought you guys might like my cheap outriggers that worked exceptionally well. Packed it up at 11:45 and ran home with the waves following us, luckily because it had kicked uo quite a bit. The jetties and dynamite hole were like a ■■■■ washing machine. The lehi squitch black and purple was the hot color. The huge hit was on a Ilander black and pink.

Congrats. Nothing wrong with home made outriggers. I made mine out of boat hooks bought at West Marine. Work great.

nice i m thinkin abiut getting some of the 14 foot fishin rods at walmart and rigging those up i think they would work great as an outriggers only $30 a peice, cause the are light and i could just put them in a rod holder when i was running.
