offshore today sounds

Hoping someone might have an idea of what we heard…
Ok, so, about 30 miles out, enjoying the day, and it literally sounded like I was on a duck hunt and someone set up behind me and T’ed off right at daylight, but it sounded like it was in my boat. 4 quick booms, not uniform. No jets in the area, heck no plains at all, no boats near, weirdest thing I have ever heard. Didn’t just hear, but felt the booms. Did quick bow to stern check on the boat nothing out of the ordinary…just an uneasy feeling. Any Ideas, or anyone else hear it out there today? I have heard sonic booms from jets, been out there with military boats and helicopters, but there was nothing out there in view today…

I was out past the Deli and heard the same loud blasts yesterday. Sounded like coming from north of our position. Like you, didn’t see or hear any aircrafts. Seismic drill testing is what came to mind, but I hadn’t heard that it had been approved to begin.

Sonic booms most likely , probably would never see nor hear the planes:sunglasses::sunglasses:

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

well, that should stop the overfishing problem.
“78% of the fish left the area”. This goes on every 10seconds for days at a time.

I will have to admit it looks like the ultimate daisy chain.

Seismic testing isn’t loud. It’s just an air bubble. I actually dove under a deployment one time and a freighter is significantly louder and more intrusive. I’m sure there are videos of what it sounds like under water.

This is the first video that popped up, so probably not the best one, but here’s a test at the dock. You can clearly tell, it wouldn’t even be audible out of the water from a few meters away.
