I’ve got a few extra days in March so I was gonna try to do some fishing out of Charleston. I don’t know anything about that area so I was hoping you guys could give me some advice. What’s the best bite that time of year? Should I try offshore, or should I stay in and chase reds? Or should I try both?I’ve got two days in the second week of March. Also, which charters do you recommend for each? Thanks in advance for your help.
For inshore Reds contact Dorado. I was fishing with him a year or so back and he pulled in the biggest red I have ever seen . He is personable and grew up in the creeks and rivers of Charleston.
Bring some friends, hire a guide, and keep 3/person/day for a coupla days.Maybe the guide will let you keep his limit, too.About the only way to have a good fishfry legaly around here in March.

Maybe I should have said for any inshore guide get in touch with Dorado. I have fished with him many times inshore and learn something new every time. He has a brand new Carolina Skiff which is stable as all get out.

The chances of the wind letting you get offshore are nonexistent almost. With this warm weather go inshore.
