We had some great fishing during the week. Ed. John, Pete, Jordan, Robert and Ken. Mainly caught fish in the 175 to 300ft range. We caught some really big Mahi. Saw several marlin and a migration of rays that turned the water green. There seemed to be thousands of rays through the water column.Robert and I tagged teamed a mahi. He hooked up on a large Mahi and faught it for the longest time. I had just made this squid chain lure with 6 red and yellow florecnt squid. The fish came into the boat and went deep. The mahi turned and wrapped the props and broke off. We thought he was gone. However, I looked over and saw my squid chain running through the water. I told the guys to hand me my speargun and I got on the bow of the boat and we proceeded to chase the mahi and I took about 4 shots and missed. We continue to circle around and on my 5th shot I connected right under his eye-see photo with chain and spear. It was amazing that after 10 minutes the fish never did go down.
