From 2007, you went way back. I believe that picture ended up being a fake.

Well…I could see that happening in FL with a 14’ V hull like that…does a lot better than a skiff would. Also, by looking at the photo all the usual mistakes in a photo shop job are not there such as placement of hands, shadows etc.He is obviously a billed-fish enthusiast by the large decal on the back window of his Ranger. I did notice a VHF antennae so that is good at least he had comm

OLD POST!!! look at the date… and you can look this idiot up… He is a nut
“You are the offspring of 5 monkeys having But Secs with a retarded fish squirrel………. CONGRADULATIONS”!!!
It’s a FLA tag on the back of the truck and I’d rather be on a jet ski 17 miles out then a jon boat. Atleast a Jetski will upright itself and keep running and will get you in and out at 60mph…AND if you know how to ride one you won’t tip over in the big swells…

That’s all you got for me Lynn? I really thought you could do better than that??? Such good people here…What’s good about CF celebs is that no matter who they found 17 miles off on a Jetski, they’d be sure to rescue them! lol…Can’t wait to get back at it next month! Will be in a little bigger watercraft then the 11’ Jetski…The ski doesn’t have enough rod holders or a big enough fishbox:slightly_smiling_face:

yea ur right…When I captain the boat I barely put enough legal fish in the boat to fill up a 20qt cooler much less a fish box:smiley:
…I need A LOT more practice!!! My biggest issue is getting anchored on the spot. Dad has no problems, me, that’s another story…I suck at putting the boat in the right spot to drop the anchor and get back on the fish! Practice, practice, practice!

Not super tough to do, just takes some knowledge and practice, you have a chartplotter on boat?

Always used GPS but always seemed to be off on the drift…even after drifting a few times…The last few times I went out I marked the wrecks and a ton of fish (or what I thought were fish) but couldn’t get anything to bite so that didn’t helped…I’ve drift fished most of the day all but one time in my limited times fishing out of charleston. I gotta get some experience on board with me…dad doesn’t care to go much with his motorcycle fetish now. With him it’s money…Amazing how much I THOUGHT I knew by fishing with him for 15 years before trying without him…

Come to dead stop right where you want boat to end up, let boat drift, note direction of drift over ground, run 180 degrees off your drift course directly over where you want boat to end up a hundred yards or so past spot, drop anchor, let out scope untill directly over spot. Works untill wind or current changes.

Thats usually when I would break out the grapple anchor and toss it up wind/current to try to hold position.

lol…I feel the same Lynn…Last time out I did drift fishing all day and every drift was a couple degrees different each time…After an hour or so I was 25 degrees off from my first drift…Just kept adjusting paths…Good thing we were blackfish fishing and the hardbottoms seem to be loaded with them in the spring time
