anybody know of any good spots to fish kingfish offshore. are there any good wrecks or strips to fish them?
hey for a start go to teh reefs section of this website, look down and on the left. also can try SCDNR website for reef locations (similar to this site’s chart). Also go spend some $$$ on a maps unique chart from your local marina or boatersworld.

I have had good luck with them out at the commanche(Y-27 I think but cant remember). My friends all pull in dolphin and little tunny but everytime its my turn on the rod, its a king mack.
then you could always try the grillage.
Run the channel slow with live bait. That is the ticket.

Get a maps unique chart, its a good investment, not just for kings, but for other offshore species as well.
We always do good at the Charleston 60, but it gets crowded out there and alot of the kings there are juvenile 10-15lbs, but we have caught and hooked some over 30lbs there. The Shady Grady is good as well.
Don’t underestimate just off of the beaches within 3 miles offshore of Folly esepcially later in the summer, some of the big kings cruise in close following the schools of menhaden
