So I picked up a Berkley Oil & Grease Kit, which is basically just two little containers of reel oil and grease. But if you look online (youtube and fishing sites), there is a ton of conflicting info about which specific parts of the reel get the oil and grease. What do you guys do?
First off, what reels are you trying to service?
My bad. All spinning gear.
Two Penn Fierce 3000’s that are used in both fresh water and salt,
One Penn Fierce 5000 used in salt
One Penn Battle 6000 used in salt.
Plus a few light spinning reels used for freshwater ponds and streams for bass, panfish, trout etc.
Btw I do make sure all the saltwater gear is rinsed well after each use. Thanks!

The Berkley lubes will be fine. So long as they are synthetic as not to be affected with colder temps. Where to put what where? Bearings get the oil, after a good cleaning, gears, shafts and what not get the grease. ( after a good cleaning). Don’t forget your line rollers and bearings, a common over looked area and hard to rinse all saltwater from. I surf fish HARD, some reels have 4-5 seasons on them. after cleaning, lubing they are back to like new condition. (not Penn though).
