Haven’t run motor since 1st of year and plan to go thurs, decided to
change oil first, checked oil level before pulling plug , too much
oil in crank case, know this was not the case when put up as I check
level after every use , boat sits under tractor shed cover but always raise bow so no possibility of water blowing in to get in boat but this elevates gas tank some. I’ve known carb engines to sometimes leak
gas into crankcase but never a fuel injected one???
Oil had a whiff of gas smell . Any ideas???
90 hp ,fuel injected, 2006 yammy 4 stroke!!!

I had this happen this year. Pulled dipstick and fuel/oil came out. I think with enough pressure it could push thru an injector or maybe a bad injector. Drained, flushed with a quart of oil, pulled plugs and turned engine over. New oil and plugs fired right up and ran great.
Thanks WB ; I also did all of above ,oil, flush, ect, ect, all seems
fine now but will watch reeeel close for a while!!! Also thinking
about installing an inline fuel shut off under cowl for insurance if
it’s gonna sit for a while.
Anyone else got ideas???

I wouldn’t worry about it. Ride her 'til she bucks ya.

I don’t know the answer to the question, but know that a fuel shut off valve close to the engine is always a good idea. If you think something ain’t right concerning fuel and oil, get it checked out by somebody who knows.

That’s right, go ahead and blow a $10K engine. I’d rather spend $100 at the shop to make sure it’s good. Fuel in the oil would cause me some concern.

Google it. Here’s one thread:

As I said, you might need to run it harder. But taking it to a decent mechanic to get his opinion can’t hurt anything (other than your wallet). Good luck.
