oil changes while boat is in the water.

Is this ok if I promise not to spill any?

Lots of things are OK if you don’t screw 'em up. If you do, however, consequences can be horrendous …

Just use water-based oil in case you spill it. You can buy some from Al Gore, I’ve seen commercials for it on Al-jazeera.

Moral judgment under girds the entire structure of laws and is necessary for the rational structure of any significant statute. The idea that our laws can stand independent of moral foundation is senseless.----- Albert Mohler.

when you’re finished and get back on the water, gaff a breeder and sling her in the 'gloo

that’s what Dawn is for.

how do you intend to change the gear oil?

Oil changes are easy, the gear oil is the challenge…

I’ve done it using a 5 gallon bucket, but it’s not easy.

How do you do it. And why won't you return my calls?

I did this on a Yamaha. Tilt the engine all the way up, remove the drain plug (no oil will come out as long as the engine is tilted up ) then slip a section of garden hose (Georgia credit card) into the rubber tube that is below the drain plug, then pull a cable tie tight around the rubber tube. Next put the hose into a 2.5 gallon gas can, lower the engine and let the oil drain into the gas can. When the oil is all out, tilt the engine up and reverse the process.

GOOD LUCK!!

You talkin about an inboard or outboard? Drain or pump?

I have the suction pump, out threw the oil dip stick tube,no mess

I change my engine and transmission oil while the boat is in the water. No problem. Whqatever I spill in the bilge I clean up and dispose of properly. I don’t let it get into the water.
