Oil rig off of Folly?

A few months ago, I was off of folly beach and I saw what I thought was an oil rig. I didn’t know we had those around here, or maybe I missed something. I haven’t seen anyone talking about it on here, and I cant find anything about it on the interweb. It may have been two to three miles of the beach, witch seems to be a weird place for one. Maybe my younger parting days are coming back making me see things. Is it there? What is it? Any fish under other than BSB?

You were most likely looking at the dredge rig pumping sand up to the beach for the renourishment project. No oil rigs around Charleston.

Ok, that makes sense. I did have a few extra brews that day.

From a distance I could see making that mistake. It sits up on huge pylons

Much better places to fish than were man is sucking up offshore sand to pump on beaches.

it is gone now…it can’t be more than 12-15’ of water that far out and with that cutter head moving around I doubt it would have attracted any fish…
