Invest WITH Peak Oil, NOT around it. Read about the future of energy and you will realize why we have high oil prices. Do not invest in the oil majors because the feed stock will cripple them when America starts saying ouch. Oil services are much more immune to barrel prices than are majors (long-term day-rate contracts). Agriculture commodities & precious metals because of gold being psychological and platinum’s industrial uses. S. Africa has recently had major power issues that result in a shortage of platinum (Russia & S. Africa having the largest reserves). Tangibles are the future. I realize they do not generate cash flow, but resource “grab” is what is going to happen during long-term scarcity.
If you are a trader, you CAN make money in this environment. If you are a broad market investor (401K) you will be hurting. There are opportunities, but only the Old-School Wise will prosper.
