Looking for a large baitcaster with a the low profile to use as a heavy jig and pitch rod in the salt. Kinda thinking the new Komodo 364 ss looks good but wondering if anyone has any input in it or similar sized reels from Abu (revo) or Diawa (Lexa). Thanks!
No experience with the larger revo or daiwa, but plenty with Shimano Curado 300e. Green frame. Solid reel. I would recommend it. I think you can still get them.
Yes those were good reels but they will soon not be supported by shimano and they sort of represent first generation low profile tech. They sure were great in their Time though
The 300e is still in the current product line. I’ve not had any problems getting support for my 15+ year old Chronarch 100a’s. But have never needed much. Scorpions on the other hand …

That’s really great that you have been able to get support for that cronarch. I am surprised to hear that. But yeah I am concerned about service and parts availability bc i try and maintain my equipment for a long period of time. Thanks for the input.
