What a great looking dog! What a terrible thing to have to do:dizzy_face:
I’d love to take him, my Golden could use a playmate, but must talk that over with Mrs. Cracker.

Matthew - i totally agree with Cracker. I have an 11 year old male golden who would love a play partner, but don’t think my apartment would do them both justice. He is a good looking dog! I will keep my ears open for someone that may be looking.

My heart breaks for you…and for Reo who I’m sure loves you as much as you love him.
I know that you love him a lot…enough to post this on here knowing some will make not so nice remaks in your doing so. ?..but also knowing that there are some real nice folks on here that may give you hope and help in finding him a good home.
People often judge too quickly…and don’t know what one is facing in decisions like this.
If you didn’t care you would just take him to a pound.
I hope Reo finds a good home…one that you can still go see him.
If we could take him we would…but I barely get attention now competing with Donnie’s “Roo”
I may be saying this all wrong…but I could tell. By your post that you are hurting…and hope this works out for the both of you

I tried my best to talk my wife into it, but it was a no go More dog hair, more vet bills, more dog baths, yada, yada… I sure hope he finds a great home. Sure he will. And if you reach the point of having to take him to the pound, let me know and I’ll come get him, and deal with Mrs. Cracker as necessary:face_with_head_bandage:

He’s beautiful. I wish I could come get him. My 3 y.o. beagle is very social and begs me to get her a sibling. She loves bigger (within reason) dogs, and a golden is at the top of the list for when the time is right. The chances are pretty high though that I’ll be moving from Augusta to the Bluffton area sometime in 2015 and I wouldn’t want to put him through having to move houses again so soon if he’s able go to home who won’t have to make him move again. I just don’t think I’m quite ready to add pup #2 yet.
But, like Larry said, if you get down to absolute last resort, please do not surrender him to a pound. I’d come get him before allowing that. The girlfriend has already said “aww, he’s so cute!”
In case you haven’t already thought about it, maybe one of the SC based golden rescue organizations can help you find a new worthy family for him.
matthew, waiting for a call from a friend whom i mentioned this beauty to when you posted him some time back. will give her your info as soon as she returns my call. if she is interested, she will call. she is a real dog lover so you can rest assured reo will have a good home. best of luck to you
Thank y’all so much. This is exactly why I have this ad posted here on CF.

My children would have a blast with him, but we aren’t ready yet, just had our third child a couple weeks ago. But wow what a gorgeous dog, you have taken very good care of him.

matthew, lady friend fell through, however, she is now on the trail to help you as i will also keep looking. reo didn t happen to come from low country golden rescue did he? he could be the twin to my golden. keep the faith friend…you got people.
That dog ain’t going to no pound. I’m looking too, and I was serious about dealing with Mrs. Cracker if necessary. Should be no problem finding that dog a good home.
