I need a little advice here:
I have an old (antique really) heavy duty conventional rod. Its a fantastic rod and fits my Senator 4/0 perfectly. Unfortunately it has the tendency to come apart at the joint where the cork handle meets the metal. I have put two part epoxy in there before, and it held it long enough to catch a few fish, but when I was going through my tackle the other day I noticed it was loose and it soon came apart.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to solve this problem? I really like this rod and would like to keep it
Can you post a picture of it?

Yeah, you’ll have to give me a little while.
What is coming apart exactly? Is it the grip that’s loose or something else?
Take an acid brush and paint 5200 on both parts. Reassemble and clamp if possible. Cleanup any excess with rubbing alcohol.
Wont ever come apart, still provides slight flexibility to compensate for the differing materials during hot-cold cycles.
