Thanks for sharing, that was pretty neat.

Cool. I see they even exaggerated the weight back then. Some things never change

Yep! The last fish looked like a 20, but the narrator called it 45 pounds:) Still, the video is a nice historical piece. Thanks for sharing Crabjack!

Thanks for the video. I liked it. Seeing an old black & white like that reminds me of being a kid, watching the news reels at the movie theater.

20 or 45lbs., still a nice fish. I might start tying my bandanna around my neck, just to see if it brings me any luck.

sweet find. I enjoy watching old black and white sport fishing movies, but they’re few and far between.

I also like how they somehow managed to catch stripers without spending thousands of dollars on gear, electronics and fancy boats. - LOL

Us old folks all started out like that, no tm, no sounder or gps, and old reels without levalwind with dacron line mostly, trolling or cut baiting, no ariation in any bait tanks and somehow we caught fish!!
nice to see old film bring back memories.

They still make bandannas for fishing. The only difference is now they call them “Buffs” and they cost you $25.00

I am fairly certain that the equipment seen in the video was advanced for the day and age … I mean, look, the ol’ guy had a phone on his boat!!! I didn’t get one in my car until the late 80’s …

… it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish !!!
