Old Skool

When I first joined this site years ago I used to enjoy Hoppys post. Offered advice and his culinary technique was splended to me. When he was no longer here I found him on social media and he continued to offer up advice. I get a call from NYC on a near weekend night “…son wants to catch mahi…” 4100 Bouy is 12 ft uumm let me get back to you. Always wanted to fish with Hoppy, just figured he’d be funny, he was. So I message him. Affirmative. We head inshore armed with Hoppy and live shrimp. First spot kid catches first red. A boat moves by (another guide) and then a boat anchors right beside us. Handled like a boss ; ) Second spot fish after fish after fish in gale force winds. We skipped right over small craft advisory. Great time great antics and Hoppy! I was not confident I could put my friend’s son on fish in a short window with adverse weather conditions but Sir Hopkins came through. It was like getting drove to the fishies ; ) When a fish sinks your cork everytime you put it where he tells you to in steady 30mph winds thats great catchin (gust up to 50mph later in the day) ; ) Thank you Hoppy. And thank all of you that offer up advice , knowlege, and recipies. There are many on here I would love to fish with but I am not independantly wealthy and time is tight. I have met some great fishing buddies on here and for that I am thankful. Tin fo and Congratz!

Hoppy does good work…
