on line wind speed in the Charleston harbor?

Is there anything on the web that would give you the wind speed and direction in the harbor, say you wanted to go to Morris ISland and wanted to know the wind speed and direction.
same for capers island?

National weather service. Http://www.nws.noaa.gov. See 'observations > Surface weather. Asos is the airport weather systems. Not quite the harbor. But close. Pick state and airport. Wind right on the coast is usually a little higher than at the airport. I wouldn’t think there would be much difference between chas harbor and capers, unless you had a local storm in the mix.

Also, the national data buoy center has buoys w/ weather. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/mobile/region.php?reg=southeast_usa
Pick a buoy.

We sure pay enough for this stuff. Might as well try to get some value out of them.

I looked at it and it does not seem to be real time , for wind speed and direction but seems to have a 4 hour lag.

Any local web cams show a real time wind gage speed and direction image? Or did I miss it?

I find this to be highly accurate with what you’ll see on the water, unlike other inland stations.

IOP Weather is only accurate on certain directions, the node is located in the channel. I’m constantly checking the wind to go kiteboarding and I’ve found the most accurate are either the folly beach node on www.windalert.com (disp in Mph) or go to www.follyweather.com (disp in Kts). They are both updated every hour.
