Took the Hobie out yesterday on Folly river to check for leaks and make sure everythign worked. Paddled, peddled, and sailed just fine.
Took it out today on the cut and went from riverland terrace ramp to the drawbridge with dog in back, nice trip, used the outriggers to make him more stable.
So final check will be fishing it somewhere, and its good to go. Might do another trip out to the 2NM again this year and actually fish it this time, heh.
I don’t fear the Ocean, but it sure as hell has earned my respect!

Let me know when you’re ready to hit the reef. I’ll go. The OK prowler isn’t as fast as your pedal driven beast, bu I’ll still go.
There is nothing - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Kenneth Grahame
TB,
Ill keep an eye on charts, I only go that far out when its low swells with a high period and light wind. Last time I pedeled out and sailed back in which made it nice, in theory I could tow ya
I take my GPS, phone with GPS, and handheld vhf for backup along with lots of water and some munchies.
Was a good launch off sullivan’s island beach though, nice shot out to the artificial reefs. Guys in boats out there thought I was crazy of course, and I ran at the first sign of clouds
Also I am geting my legs back in shape for it. Keep forgetting how the Hobie uses slightly different muscles than biking or running, heh.
