Been a pretty crummy last 14 months dealing with broken bones, a near death experience, crummy weather at times, not finding fish, and worst, finding them and not being able to get them to bite. So even though bait was hard to come by, today was a great day and we gave Beard’s a try with planers, floats, and down rods. Saw fish often enough, but nothing shallow. They seemed to favor being in at least 30 feet of water. Had two planers zip along for a while and then stop, and got one solid bite. But it was a 29 incher, so considering on how things have been, that’s an improvement. It was still a nice day. Patti did a good job.
Good to hear from you mike. Glad yall still out there. “Your normal fishing areas” are loaded with fish. But like u said they are aren’t biting well. I and a few others thought about fishing there for the big tx a couple weeks ago. But we couldn’t get them to eat while prefishing either. Just keep at them…that fish looks like it could have won you some money in the open division a couple weeks ago as well…
Glad to see yall back in the game. Look forward to yalls reports.

May only be one fish, but at least it’s a nice one! A sign of plenty of good days ahead. Good to see you guys back at it.

Mike, I really have missed you. Good to see you back on here. I hope that everything gets better for y’all and you will be back. Jorge and I were talking about you last week. You know we care about you. It really is good to see you here. Tell Patti hello and that I’ve been thinking about y’all. Catch em up and give me a call sometime or I’ll call you.

Well, we’re trying to get back in the swing of things. 2015 didn’t work out the way we had hoped. Besides some bumps in the road one has to encounter as one gets older, fishing attempts were a really strange year, but from many of the posts I saw throughout the year, we we were not the only one to experience them. Plan on being at the MSC meeting in January and rejoining the group. Besides, I need to catch something close to what Patti’s done.
I am so glad that you and Patti are back! I really missed you guys. Please give Patti a hug and I hope to see you soon! Happy holidays!

Nice report and fish pic.
On those two planer bites that zipped along and stopped, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if those were gar strikes.
