One mink, zero reds: Edit, Plus one, plus fly pict

I haven’t been putting in the effort. That’s hard for me to admit.

But… I slid the boat in this PM and at least went through the motions. Saw a couple little reds cruising but, no fat tailers. Pushed over to a bank and saw a little black bunny hopping across the reed mass. I knew this couldn’t be true so… the fat black bunny turned out to be a salt water mink moving her pups. She was all bowed up with the pup(s) hanging from her mouth. Made her back arch and also made her look fat. She settled on a spot and tucked the 4 pups into the new nesting place. The high floods made her relocate, I guess. Kind of made me forget the fishing for a while. But, not for much longer.

Edit to add fly: I felt bad to post a no fish report. Went back out tonight and got on the board. I tied some flies that I thought might produce but knew that they might ‘suck’. This fly got a nice fish tonight.

Fish had a tag in it and the numbers will be reported. The orange tag looked like it had recently been scraped down to reveal the numbers. I would like to be able to tell the last guy that caught it that the fish is still active and was released again in good health. Here are the first 6 designators plus the missing last numbers. If this is a fish you caught before, let me know what the last two numbers are and I will tell you where I caught it.

Orange tag: DJ1044XX. The XX are the missing numbers.

we had the exact results last nite. 1 mink 0 tails.
they are pretty cool animals.

Is your Action Craft dark blue? If it is, it's probably the same mink. PM me if it is and I'll confirm the location.
