Got off to a late start didnt even start fishing until almost 6pm after getting boat ready and gettin some bait…bite was steady until dark…sure catching a lot more cats my past 2 trips but at least they fight better then a trout HA
and this fat boy ran all the into my buddys line…what a mess those slimey guuys can be!
all caught on live finger mullet and cut heads off of bigger mullet
gnats are gettin to be bad so dont forget to put some bug spray in your boat as well!

Nice report.
I was surprised to catch a big blue way up in a creek I’ve been hitting. I thought they only hid in the deep holes that far down the river. I guess they are chasing mullet up into the creeks.
I think the blue cats taste better than trout. I know they’re way easier to clean. 
I’ve noticed that the bugs don’t get to me as bad now that I started wearing long sleeves and a buff mask. Keeps the skin cancer at bay too.

Glad to hear you had some luck. I have caught some beautiful Bluecats on the salt water side. I ahve seen many full coolers at the landing. This time of year the Blue cats seem to move into the shallower water to spawn. I have had my best luck on the last 3hrs of an incoming tide. I am praying to get out this spring. I have a bit of work to do on the boat to prep,old gas out,change the plugs ect… If my knee holds out I will work on it gradually.then ITS ON. Hope you much luck in the future.
yea saturday went the same way…lots of cats and bites and only one red…doesnt matter to me tho still landing fish in the boat! and Hoof I like that idea but i dont wanna be casper pale all summer either lol…anyone ever heard of a bug spray with SPF ?? maybe i should copywrite that ha!
nevermind…someone already did! now i just need to get some for the boat!

Absolutely! I run the “no roll” style! My grandaddy turned me on to them when I was young! Works great in current and in the surf!

Bullfrog makes a sunscreen/bug repellant. They also make a “dry” sunscreen that doesn’t leave your hands greasy.
But i also have moved to long sleeve shirts for the most part. Much easier.
