I am planning on targeting some sheepshead by the structure on the cooper river near the Ravnel bridge this Sunday and it would be great to have some company. The weather looks nice and my schedule is flexible. The invitation is open to anyone who wants to join me. I doubt I will go alone because a 2 mile paddle solo across the wando and cooper would not make my wife happy. Another group of paddlers was going out today at 2:30 so I am sure we can see their report soon here on the forum. Below is a link to the structure I plan to target and you can see Remley’s about 1.5 miles directly east of there. If the wind picks up I know a spot on the Mt. Pleasant side that is supposed to hold some nice sheepshead as well. http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=charleston&jsv=107&ie=UTF8&ll=32.816971,-79.93073&spn=0.007844,0.013475&t=h&z=17&iwloc=addr
Who’s with me?

I can head out whenever works best for everyone. I guess we should try to hit it when the tide is best and the low tide is at 2:45 on Sunday. Two hours on each end of the tide is supposed to be best so I think we could meet at noon at Remley’s or wherever we decide to put in. If you do decide to join me be ready for a mildly challenging paddle if the wind were to pick up or if the tug boats are thick.
I’ve already got some special sheepshead chum in the freezer and ready to go. Its easier than bringing a shovel and whacking the posts all day.

i would head to dentyns shipyard on the wando at 41 and park at the gas station and fish the peirs you want have to cross the river and it is a shorter paddle. also there are always sheeps there
Dude… lookin at the weather it ain’t lookin good… If the wind picks up while we are across the rivers we are gonna be up the river with a paddle that is not gonna help much I think I am gonna go hit Goose Creek res tomorrow and try for some crappie and bream… Gonna be fishin down near the dam if anyone wants to join me…

Sorry I didn’t reply earlier Nikon. I was out fishing all day. I did pretty well today and ended up with about 8 fish total if you count the 4 oyster toadfish. I am posting a few pictures in the Inshore Reports section.
I am going to probably try to just stay in the creeks tomorrow since there will probably be some wind. I am sure I will get on the sheeps another weekend soon.

Once this wind lays down we’ll be on 'em like stink on a monkey! Don’t forget… we are going to try and set up a near shore reef yak trip this summer when the water is warmer that’ll be a hoot!
