Well after the morning fiasco I went to set up on other side of property. Turkeys were in road to food plot. I tried to circle around in woods and come out above them. I stopped to glass the road before I entered. On other side of road in woods I saw what I thought was a fallen tree. Put binocs on it and it was dark in there. I stared at it for 5 minutes. It finally moved. It was a huge goobler with fan out the entire time. He took off when I raised gun.
0 for 2 opening day.
Went back this afternoon to same spot was busted yesterday and set up with decoys. It was windy and cold, They came down same road towards food plot exactly as planned. They stopped 60 yards out and strutted for 30 minutes with fans out the entire time. Would not close the distance. They did not like setup for some reason. Going back tomorrow with different decoys. Hope 3rd time is charm:smiley:
