No opening weekend reports? I didn’t go, but I heard the shrimp were thick in Bull’s Bay.
Probably like last year, where hardly anyone reported. Everyone wants to keep it quite so they can deter people from trying in certain areas. Just saying!
Haven’t been in a few years, but I hope you all cooler out.
Unfortunately, you are probably right. Plenty of people show up here to see what others are doing, but don’t like to post their reports. That’s why I’m telling ALL!!! If I find them, EVERYBODY will know where. If I can mess up just one trip for someone who acts like that, it will be well worth it! The outdoor community in general used to be one that shared and helped each other out. Too many selfish people these days.
Thanks DFreedom!
I haven’t gone yet.
I didnt make it out either due to weather and no one else in my tribe being available. I will be out this Saturday. Got a feeling it’ll be pretty busy with the beautiful weather conditions.
I went shrimping in Bulls Bay yesterday for the first time this season. The weather was nice and we shrimped the outgoing tide. We only got about 1/8 of a cooler of mixed size shrimp. There were at least a half dozen boats around us and no one was doing very good. Maybe the storm that moved through the previous day had a negative affect. Hopefully things will pick up next time.
Tried deep holing south end of bay this afternoon right after low. Averaged about 0.2 shrimp per cast. Water was super muddy so maybe the baiters did ok. We sure didn’t!
Thanks for the report. I went crabbing today and casted for bait and didn’t get any shrimp that I normally do but who knows. As Pauly D says ‘ I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR ‘ !!
Thanks for the reports! About another week and a half before I can get down and now, of course, future weather models are showing what could be a problem coming out of the gulf. Let’s hope not!
