Is it just me, or is anybody else not all that excited about the tide on opening weekend? Looks like high tide and sunset are pretty close together all weekend. Will probably wait on the harbor because of this and spend the opening weekend in the bay.

Its gonna be perfect IMO low at 1:50 so we will be shrimping the rising tide and a high tide at 7:50 muddy bay

not just you- no earlier than monday night as usual for us!

i really try to avoid the crowds, which is why we wait and shrimp weeknights whenever possible. having read this forum for a few years running though, one thing is apparent about shrimp baiting- it takes all kinds. in a recent discussion, three people in a row preferred three very different tidal stages:

-around slack tide
-flood tide
-mid-ebb tide

The tide doesn’t matter a whole lot to me, though I do go different places depending on what it is doing. I do like to have the water moving for at least a couple hours after sunset though, that at least gives you some time to fill the cooler.

y’all should def stay off the water this weekend with all the crowds and leftover drunks from Folly out there trying to shrimp…

Garris landing should make for some good entertainment. Can’t get in the water until noon and low tide is at 1 pm. Shallow, shallow water there at Garris during low tide.

I can only go so many weekends so I stick my poles before sunset, no matter what the tide is.

There will definitely be some mud plowin’ going on at Garris.
