I am now $1,000 richer after reporting a Shark Tournament out of Galveston, Houston for catching trophy sharks, gutting them, then throwing them in the bay. Just giving one a heads up but it is against the law to waste any gamefish and you all may call me a hippie or what not but catching trophy 700# sharks and just wasting them disgusts me. I hope if anyone sees anything similiar to this would report that particular boat and/or persons.

a buddy of mine witnessed some vietnamese guys loading a cooler with rat reds 2 years ago off a dock on shem creek. he told them they shouldnt do that and they flipped him off, took the cooler to their truck and started fishing again. he went down the creek and called dnr. dnr came and busted the schitt out of them. a few weeks later he got a check in the mail for $500 from dnr

Just an update. The local wildlife and fisheries set up a sting and busted three different boats for catching these sharks, gutting them and throwing them over. They confiscated boat, trailer, fishing gear and vehicles used to tow for further evidence. This may be just a small ordeal but this made my day.
Also these guys got busted by posting pictures and discussing everything in depth on a local fishing forum. I really wish you conservationist on Charlestonfishing were the fisherman down here in Texas where i reside right now because there are very few sportsman and conservationist who care about the future of our waters. Also I contacted my local CCA representative and I am trying to end these shark kill tourneys down here.

and bees … and bats. I’m not scared of them but they might kill somebody.
(note to reader: Some of the above seemingly non-sequitur replies are allusions to another thread in the Off Topic forum titled “snake shot” that discusses the ethics of wantonly killing snakes in the middle of the woods.)
