Ok, say you had a choice, on what boat you want next. Midrange pricing, the boat is/can be used for the following Flats fishing / inshore / and maybe a trip to the harbor and jetties (on a good day).
palmerscott, i agree with you 100%. i will have the 175 some day.
iām thinking FireMedic might have something else in mind though, given his sig line. if the 17 scout is more āharbor and jettiesā than āflats and inshoreā for you, i would suggest the following:
-high tide 1502
-key west 152
-montauk 150
-trade for my 14ā Lowe aluminum v-hull

Barbawang the Scout i have is the Dorado (fish/ski) It works well in shallow water but the boat just sits way to low in the water, I have tried to get to the jetties but I get real wet in the aft end of the boat due to how low it sits, other than that I am happy with it.
I have a Key West 1720cc and I think itās the perfect all around boat. Iāve been to the nearshore reef, jetties, as well as inshore. I can pull 2 kneeboarders, go for a pleasure ride, park it at Morris Island, etc. Itās lightweight and garageable. There are a few things I would change, but for the price (in 2003) it was better than all the competition (scout 175 was runner-up).

iām sure the weight of the dual console and max horsepower donāt help with riding low in the back⦠but if you like the size of the boat, i second the suggestions for the 175 (w/ 90hp) and the 1720 Key West as great all-around boats.
For the needs you listed I enjoyed the McKeeCraft BayClassic 185. I only moved up to a bigger boat due to desire to run offshore more and have more people onboard.
Theyāre the āUnsinkablesā and built solid. Iām going to sell mine this spring so let me know if interested. Has lots of accessories.
I agree with the 175 Scout. 10" draft and the show price was under 20k with a 2stroke yammy. And if that too small the 191 Bayscout is a definite step up and it only drafts 9" It was priced right around 30K. The one at the show was pretty sweet
If Al Qaeda wants to destroy the America we know and love, they had better hurry because Obamaās beating them to it.
Be careful buying a Ranger. Not that itās a bad boat. They are great boats, good quality and price range. Only problem is they are in [b]bankrupcy. Stories about problems with them all over the internet.Warranty work could be a serious problem. Jusy sayingā¦
I second the KW 1720cc. That was my first boat and have since upgraded, but its an all around great boat for a great price. Its a do everything boat, that is very practical and economical.

as scboatservice said that is over it was not a problem with ranger but genmar ranger is doing great and keeping very busy and there is no problems with warranty work. i had some warranty work done during the bankrutcy and it was fast and well done
