Opinions on Min HP I can use

Hopefully some of you guys can help me out that have or had simlar size boats. I have a 1987 18 foot Alum Jon boat (Polar Kraft) that weighs around 300# but I added a floor in it so now its 450-500#.
I am looking for a 4-Stroke. I do not care about speed just so I can get on plane if I need to but where I fish I don’t have to go that far to get to my fishing spots.
Figuring a simi-V at 500# plus motor weight, gear, a couple bodies what do you think the smallest HP I could go is and still plane out? I was hoping I could get by with a 25hp because of cost but wasn’t sure?
Any help would be appreciated.

with then right prop the 25 should work!

I appreciate it, now the problem is finding a good 4-stroke 25hp long shaft in my price range.

Agreed, I wouldn’t go any lower than 25hp.

Thanks guys.

a 25 would plane the boat with little load, but 2 guys and gear, you are going to struggle
