Yes…really. Only exception would be an etec.

Hmmm, okay.

X2

You must have run some sorry 2 strokes.

Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!

I second what Chris V said. Chris had to rebuild an 05’ 200 for me. Power head went out. Then the lower unit went out. Then the whole engine blew. The warranty is run through a seperate company. Getting a repsonse is tough. Then they want you to tear the engine apart and send someone to come look at it. Then they want to order parts. Then the parts are on back order. I lost the use of my boat for 18 months over the 4 years I had that engine on the boat. I ave not had any problems with the '09, but I am dreading any type of warranty repair. By the way…Chris V fought as hard as he could to speed up the process. The down time was not his fault.

Did you ever determine what caused the powerhead to blow? Were there any signs or did it just let go one day?

It was actually the second power head on that engine. They never determined what caused it to go. Just lost power one day. Chris may chime in, but I don’t think we were that worried about a cause as much as a fix.

I have a zuke DF140 and it has been outstanding. The only problem I see is that the neutral is very finicky. You can put it in neutral and turn the motor off, then try to start it and it won’t start ( thinks it’s in gear)…you have to put it in gear and the back to neutral to get it to start. Don’t know if others have had similar issues???

My guess would be carbon and corrosion. Mine blew with only 1000 hours on them. They never seem to be right after being rebuilt.
