OK,I have been looking at a couple of new bay boats. I am looking at the Sea Fox 220 Viper, Robalo 226 Caymen, and even considering the Wellcraft 221 fisherman. Maybe you all could chime in on some opinions.

No interest in the Pioneer 220 Baysport? I don’t have any first hand experience with any of yours, but just wanted to throw out a local built that falls right in this same category.

We got a used 2012 Seafox 220XT about 2 years ago, its the precursor to the 220 Viper. It has a 150 Yamaha, pushes it up to 40 mph under ideal conditions and gets between 3-4 mpg. Its pretty versatile, we can go in the creeks as well as the local reefs. Good amount of storage fore and aft. Ours has a T-Top and trim tabs. Rated for 8 people but fishes 4 with no problem. We take it out year round. We are very happy with it. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
Thanks everybody, I will take a look at the pioneer. I thought it was a rather pricey boat. I know they have a reputation for being a well built boat.

Check out the Blue Wave 2200 Pure Bay as well. Love mine! #1 selling bay boat on the gulf coast and I’m seeing more and more on the east coast. Baddest bay boat on the market in my opinion. I’ve owned several. If you want to test ride a Blue Wave just let me know and you can hop on in. Do a test ride in all the boats you are looking at. Look, touch, do your research.
The Sportsman 227 Masters is a great riding boat. Great guys to deal with at Sportsman IMO.

Check Avenger by Pioneer Boats … Mine is being rigged now that I ordered.
Pioneer boats are the way to go. Customer service is unparalleled and their fit & finish leaves competitors behind. I had a 175 Baysport from them and upgraded to their 197 Sportfish. Absolutely love their boats and can’t think of anything I’ve been unhappy with.

Anyone know when the AV22 Avenger will be available? Curious to see the specs and layout on it. Don’t need a 24’ or 26’, but the AV22 intrigues me as compared to the Baysport 220 and 220 Sportfish.

Buddy is on the fence on selling a Viper w/a 250 Yamaha (don’t quote me exactly). PM your info and I’ll let him know. Boat is on Lake Murray.
