QUESTION FOR YA’'LL THAT TRAILER YOUR RIDES… WHAT ARE THE GENERAL OPINIONS OF SPRAYING THE MAIN CARRIER BUNKS CARPET STRIPS WITH SILICONE TO HELP REDUCE FRICTION UNLOADING / LOADING??
I’VE HEARD A FEW COMMENTS SOME PRO , SOME NEGATIVE !!!

I used my table saw to cut down scrap and counter sunk the holes and screwed it over the carpet on the bunks.
when I obtain more im going to put it all my trailers
This seems like a manufactured problem, Im on boat number 9 and ive never had an issue with loading or unloading and all of my trailers have had carpet on the bunks.
I use the cheap cooking spray on the bunks when going to load the boat so the trailer bunks have had time to dry out. Don’t do it every time, but it does help.
DIFFERENT RAMPS DIFFERENT ISSUES ; I USE A COUPLE RAMPS THAT ARE EXTREAMLY SHALLOW WITH LITTLE TO NO INCLINE WHICH MAKES FOR A PAIN IN THE AZZ TO SLIDE OFF WHEN LAKE IS IN DRAW DOWN !!!

I had the starboard on two trailers over about 20 years and never had hull damage from it. Trailered to the keys every year. I did the same as boatpoor, strips cut to bunk wide (beveled the edges) and counter sunk screws right on top of the carpet. I have some scrap laying around you are free to have to try for yourself.
I once had a boat with a 5 bladed prop and it wouldn’t back up and those ramp with no elevation were a pain always had a guy back me in fast and hit the breaks hard when we hit the water. My whaler has a full roller
trailer and once at the Awendaw church camp ramp my brother unhooked my boat before I backed in and it roller off and hit the ramp and stood up in the air on the motor( good strong Yamaha). Glad it was shrimp season and there was a lot of guys around and they picked it up and put it back on the trailer. Thank GOD there was no damage but my ego
I sprayed mine with silicone and love it. Used to take a ton of effort to get mine off the trailer, now just slides right off with a little push. 3 months later and still super slippery, no reapplications. Make sure you leave boat hooked up when you back down the ramp!!!
I purchased some bunk material that is similar to starboard on Amazon cost was less than $20 and came with SS screws. I’m using it for my jon boat after I rebuild the bunks. Came in 24" x 3" strips - 8 to a pack. Super slick and helpful when unloading, that is until I want to load the boat back on the trailer…the unintended consequence is now on the steeper ramps my boat wants to slide off of the trailer before I can get the wench strap connected when I’m trying to load it. This is problematic when I’m fishing solo. Hope bit of info helps with what you are trying to accomplish.
I’ve seen people leave there boat in gear so they can keep it pinned to the wench arm so they can do the hooks. Also every once in a while I see someone with like a 30ft rope do the slam it in reverse and break hard and let it unload that way.
