25$ for tags (never put on poles[yes some more poles])
140$ for new net
40$ for fish meal
205$ spent

Could only go during #$%^&*@@## government shutdown due to son’s work schedule. Cost me 205$ and they (feds) never missed a buck.
But wait the ramp closing saved me 200$ in travel/gas expenses…SOOOOO a hardy thanks to UNCLE SAM for saving me 200 bucks Guess they do know what is best for us all!

These days I’d rather take advantage of the fall fishing rather than the shrimping.
Well, unless the shrimp are running good. I bet a lot of others feel the same way

I went 6x’s probably a cooler and a quarter combined? Had fun, brought people who never done before, stood up twice and went by myself …hope all have a nice thanksgiving and good year til next season.

It’s like gambling - you have to bank on going and bust, but your hoping to go and cooler out in 2 throws. As for my season - well I enjoyed being on the water - caught enough for several excellent meals for the family, learned a bit, got better at throwing the net and overall I have no regrets for the little I spent in bait, tags etc. I managed to also take advantage of the fall fishing too.

After reading all the horrible reports, i didn’t even bother to go. But I did take Penny’s advice and spent $200 at Carolina Seafood for fifty lbs of some of the prettiest best tasting shrimp I have had in a while!

I should have taken you up on the offer to go. It just didn’t work out. Maybe next year. I still have a few shrimp from last year that will have to last. This is definitely the least that amount that I have had to get me thru until the next year. But it is what it is.

Ditto. The only time I had I could go was when Garris and Buck Hall were closed. My Fall went to h*ll and I have actually not been able to get down for anything. Oh well, maybe next year.

X2 - already wrapped up my poles and put them away. Never hit the water this year. Hope they don’t dry out

Half a cooler of smediums and eigth cooler of large, lot of disapointment and frustration, but I learned by other speeding boats where the shallow water is on the north end of bulls, LOL

you suck

One weekend from Columbia…

Saturday mixed 1/3 cooler
Sunday mixed 1/3 cooler
Monday larger 1/2 cooler

Got enough shrimp to eat and the wife and I enjoyed being on the water and dining in Charleston. Enjoy even the bad time on the water. Some people cannot do what we do.

Glad I’m not the only one optiker

14’ Skiff-“Redfish Reaper”

Filled a few coolers with the dreaded med/large mix in Sept/Oct. Even got skunked once or twice. However…finally found the big jumbo chicken legs on the advice of an old timer about two weeks before the season ended. Went every chance we could after that and it turned out to be a great haul this year. After shrimping for the last ten years, I can tell you this year was simply strightforward. Incoming tide just after dark. Plain and simple. We busted their *ss everytime. Daylight, no. Outgoing tide, very spotty. Incoming just after dark…Kabuke! Granted, I live further south than a bunch of you Chucktowners, but I’m just throwing my recent experience out there for my fellow skrimpers. Remember too, you MUST have beer, some tunes and a buddy you can dog cuss to make it successful.
