Optima Blue Top Batteries

The two Blue Top starting batteries in my boat are 3&1/2 years old.
They appear to be in good condition, hold a charge etc.
I am wondering if it’s time to change them out.
Anybody have experience with how long these batteries last?
I do not abuse them. They are kept fully charged and clean.

Some people will say don’t switch them until you have to. I replace my batteries and keep the older ones and use them with an inverter to power tailgating stuff like a 32" t.v. and some computer speakers. Northern Tool has some good prices on their inverters right now as well.

It is what it is!

I had two in my boat, first one died after 6 years, and the second one died a year later. They work good until the day they die. I replaced them with group 27 AC Delco voyagers.

I had two Yellow Tops, exact same story. Each was in a truck most of the time (two trucks) when I needed to tow something the Bronco would lose its battery to run the winch on the trailer.
The crewcabs battery was good one minute, dead the next. The other battery lasted another year total of 6 for that one, but did the same thing died like the switch was turned off, would not take a charge even with the ‘smart’ chargers they are supposed to use. I bought them about six months apart from each other.
I did not buy new Yellowtops because I just didn’t want to pay the expense again, but they were great when they lasted.
I have not had a blue top.

Same reason I didn’t buy new ones, expense didn’t justify it. Plus I have got 10 good years out of the Voyager batteries.
