Finally made a bucket list trip to the gulf oil rigs. 2 days and 2 nights of fishing. We started fishing rigs at 90 miles from port. We ended up straight out of Venice, about 140 from Orange Beach. Chunking at night was great. Really enjoyed the sunset kite fishing.

Love it down there, last year while fishing near shore rigs we me a guy at the ramp with a cat that was leaving to fish off shore (100 mi) rigs and met him the next day and he had a coffin box full of yellowfin and caught and relesed 2 bills!
I fish on a friends 43 viking out of OB at the rigs. It’s an amazing experience when the fish are there. 100+lb yft chasing flyers jumping like mullet.
