So I figure I would put it out there. Just got back from the great beyond and several days of some mixed up seas, but myself and the other boats had a nice run of YELLOWFIN TUNA. Overall not that many fish were caught but it was consistant across the board.
Look for the mixing water and the ‘lock tide’ east of the Georgetown Hole…hint hint…if you plan to attempt a trip…
Yes…a sat phone would be the ticket, yet everything goes back to the old adage of “picking your days”. I say this not to seem vanilla, but if you have SST chart subscriptions and a general knowledge of what to look for. I am sure you can decipher out what makes fishy water. You can never replace being out and observing it yourself.
The stream moves, currents run differently during different phases of the moon, and then you have the enviromental factors (pressure, fronts, rain, and so forth). It can be 80 miles one day and 100 miles the next.
It is from my understanding, that the most complex “fish targeting” programs have huge variability when it comes to off of SC, but I will say that 50% of the time, they are right at you catching something in a specific area, just not exactly what they predict.
Can I get the numbers to “Other Side of the Stream”? I can’t seem to find it on my Mapsunique! Sounds like a great spot.
Sure you can, I keep all those numbers in a coffee can and you can pick one for $50.00, but it is the bait that really makes the fish hop into the boat. I have plenty of that at $100.00 a box.
For you skinnee, I will give it half price for the holidays and throw in some wreckfish numbers you guys can dive on.
