Ouachita/Quachita

any one have one of these john boats? Can’t figher out if its Ouachita or Quachita. Looking at a 14 ft flat bottom aluminium boat with a 15hp. Any input would be appriciated. Thanks

Google says with an O, not with a Q.

Ouachita

Google it, there’s lots of discussion about them. They all see quite old but people say good things.

It is with an O, I had one many years ago.

My Uncle had one, his son still has it. Solid boats back in the day. I think I was about 15 when they bought it new, I’m 52 now and the boat is still going strong. If I had a dime for every crappie we caught out of that thing, I probably wouldn’t work next week.:sunglasses:

I have a 1975 14 footer in my backyard. I picked it up from a friend who said if I came and got it and paid whatever back taxes were due I could have it. I think it cost me less than $100.00. I gave it to my then 11 year old as a father son project. We cleaned it up, put lights on it, a seat, 4 rod holders, and an electric trolling motor. He’s now about to turn 14 and wants to put a camo paint job on it this summer. He’s had a lot of fun on lake Murray with it and it’s been a good one.
