OUT AND DEEP

Left wapoo at 630am to go to charleston 60 . Seas 2ft no structer to them so was little rough going out but managable averaged 20knts . Get to 60 to get bait well anyone there knows not much .Left there with what we had to 100ft of water . water temp 69degrees .well heres the score 15 plus sharpies [shark] ,1 falsie aborcra,1bullshark 40lbs and no groupies,snappies,or kings.Did have 5 dolphins come around the boat they where lookers and not takers.tried everything to get them but they would chase the bait and lures but would not hit .they looked to be slingers 5 to 10 pds.Lots of albecore schools break water everywhere and massive schools of amber jacks 200plus in school swim under boat .High lite of the day was octopus .Caugth one and when we where trying to get off hook was stiCking to everything I TRY TO STICK IT ON PARTNER .GOT OF BOAT AFTER 10 MIN BATTLE.Back to hill by 330 .Not much keeper food fish but great time in january with good friends.

Sounds like you won the trash fish trio award. The octopus story sounds like us last Sunday 12/30. We were not far off the Chas 60 on the Black Banks live bottoms abusing BSB’s and hauled up an octopus. I could not get him netted before he dropped off the rig. They are good baked aand make into a ceviche or pasta dish. Next time roll deeper and away from the reef for better results. To much trash fish attracting more trash fish at the 60 this time of year. The BSB’s are so hungry any patch of reef will produce.
