Hit the water with the wife around 8AM and headed into the Harbor with an 8:30 high tide. Caught a few finger mullet and shrimp started at the Castle. We started out with mullet on corks and doubled on our first cast, me with a small flounder and her with a 20" red. A few minutes later, she was reeling in another slot 20" red.
I switched to shrimp, but the pin fish wore the bait out everytime. I also tried mullet on a carolina rig but no takers. Around 9:30 it started getting hot and the breeze completely died. We moved and tried both of the Forts without luck. By 10:30 there was still no breeze, it was getting crazy hot, and we decided to call it a morning. (I wish I brought the top.) On our way in we saw legions of boats heading to the Wando.

Congrats and nice fish!
Saturday most of been “women’s” day!! My wife also outfished me, bringing in an 18in redfish for dinner. Me…lots of lost rigs and a stingray!
Welcome to my world. The Girldawg can always out fish me!

So, where’s the “Castle” just curious. Heard of it but never actually sure what people are refering to
Nice brace of fish. If you were looking for some breeze it was out at the jetty all day.

Thanks, we had a good morning. Stephen, I will tell her that you said hello.
Athon, “Castle” is Castle Pinckney" which is an old fort on an island in the harbor. It is off E. Bay and about parallel with Broad. Check it out on google maps. …Anyways it has rocks, grass, sand, and shells near deeper water. All and all making it a good spot to try multiple baits and techniques. I usually stick to carolina rig or popping corks, but that is just what I am comfortable with.
We thought about cruising out to the jetties, but we had already breached the heat threshold for the morning.
Now that’s a great pic of a Lady and her fish.
