I just bought a 2017 14’ Carolina Skiff with a 2017 Suzuki 20 hp 8/26/19 . He wrote me a bill of sale for the boat and one for the motor . It was not a SCDNR bill of sale , it was printed off the internet . Will SCDNR accept this and does it need to be notarized .
Thanks
Just an FYI, my wife works at DNR and I would not answer your question, it is best to just call the boat titling and registration office or look online. No need to get second hand advice to find out later you need something else.
SEMPER FI
30 gw marlin
35 donzi sfc (sold)
25 pursuit cc(sold)
45 egg harbor sportfish (sank hurricane)
Florida has a title for the boat, the motor, and the trailer. If he does not have these titles to give you; beware. Dnr will want the signed over and notarized titles when you go to register it here.
What Itid said, but I’m with MissLilly… I’d want a title over a bill of sale. Used to be in S.C. you had to have both, but now the Title can also be used as Bill of sale. I’m pretty sure Florida is the same.
When I bought my used boat from Florida 2 months ago there was only a title issued for the boat. I had a notarized bill of sale for the boat and two engines. I had to wait for the title to be released after the lien was paid off. We did all the transactions at his bank. When I went to the DNR they wanted title for the boat and notarized bill of sales for engines and boat. they also want printed pics of hull Id and engine serial number and model.
YOU MUST HAVE A TITLE FOR THE BOAT FROM FLORIDA, AND A BILL OF SALE FOR THE MOTOR. IT CAN BE HAND WRITTEN ON A PIECE OF PAPER AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE NOTARIZED.
BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE A TITLE FOR THE BOAT
