Out of Towner Needs Help

I am going to be visiting my mother (who lives in MB) in the next few weeks and need to catch a few reds or trout. We come down 2-3 times per year and I am considering bringing my kayak or Old Town 17 Discovery Sport (like a Gheenoe) down. I have fished the Cape Romain area a few times with a guide and an trying to learn a few places on my own. After doing a little research I have found a couple options (a little closer to her) and was hoping someone could guide me down the right road.

Option 1. Huntington Beach State Park- I have heard there is some mighty skinny water back there that has a few reds. Unfortunatly I am not going to be there when the water is high enough to flood the grass flats. So I will probably be cruising around looking for nervous water, hitting points and doing some blind casting. Is there any wadable area’s close to the ocean? I do not have a engine on the Old Town, so with either vessel I will be paddling. Both are stable enogh to stand up on.

Option 2. Renting a Carolina Skiff from Capt. Dicks. I am a striper guy and we cast sinking lines (250-400), 95% of the time. I have no problem doing this, as long as it is a constructive use of my time. Although I love sight fishing, my main objective is to catch a few reds ot trout. I figuerd I could hit the jetties, mouths of creeks, piers and other structures. I guess the down fall here is that I would be surrounded by a bunch of other fisherman (which again I am use to w/ stiper fishing).

Option 3. Go a little further sound and hit the Pawleys Island area. The south end has that parking lot where the area is wadeable. The idea here is to wade along, casting to the edges of the grass.
That is it. That is all the brainstorming I have done on the subject. Any input is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!! Again, all I am hoping for is a little guidance and not any “honey holes”. Thanks in advance for any advice or guidance!
