Outboard mounting

Hey guys,

I just finished up painting the hull of my 13ft Whaler and I picked up a 25hp Evinrude. I’m trying to get it on the water by Memorial weekend, but I still have to mount the motor.

I wasn’t sure if this is as straight forward as it seems (place the motor on the transom, measure it out to center and bolt it on) or if it is actually more complicated than I am hoping.

Has anyone mounted a similar size motor before and have any suggestions? Is this something I can do in the garage, or should I take it in to get mounted?

Thanks

yes you can do it in your garage
make sure its centered, and straigh up and down
use some spacers, to adjust vertical height
you want the cavitation plate level with the flat area on the bottom of the boat
