I have a 1997 short shaft tiller handle 40 Yamaha. I wanting to upgrade to a newer motor. I have 3 qestions 1) What is this motor roughly worth 2) Any recommendations on motor brands in this catergory 3) Where to buy? Thanks

I can only comment on question #2.
I have a friend that has a 2009 (I think) 4 stroke 40 or 50hp shortshaft tiller and loves it. I may be wrong on the year because I have only seen the boat once since he upgraded.

These smaller carbed engines are very sought after because they run forever; especially Yamaha. I wouldn’t get rid of it, but that is just me.
