Anybody throw the Rio Outbound Short series? Pros/cons
Have the OB short and have thrown the tropical OB short, great line for shooting to make long casts with one back cast, thats it really, not great for presentation type stuff, most suitable for spanish/albie fishing where you have to make a quick reasonably far cast to a blitz
its also probably the best line for tossin huge wind resistant flies… stripers?
Got any?
yup stripers too forgot that one, scott also uses it on his spey rod, casts the entire line with ease in the surf
Smaller fish thus far…
Wow! Perfect day to test drive the new line. White caps etc…Went down the lake and this line proceded to lay BIG poppers way out in the froth. Fish were coming completely out of the water to strike. Beauty of the fact that I had a full acre or so to myself.
Thanks LCFS!
Reasons I got(sort of) the Outbound…thanks Scotty
Fresh of the vise yesterday evening, b/w diapers
In Newberry if anybody is interested…
Ha! nice! is that the DC Dodger Kit (poledancer)? we just got them in- very cool- those look killer. Stripers where we want em yet?

That is correct. Very easy to duplicate(just needed to get my hands on a head. Do you sell the heads or just the kits?
Stripers are getting REAL close to the house.
Let me know…
I have this line in 8 and 12.
When I cast with fast action Sage rods, these lines seem 1 or maybe 2 wt over their rating.
They are very good for throwing large flies, but I would not recommend them for red fish.
as far as I know, we can only get the kits- i can call Cascade Crest for ya and see if they’ll sell me a “heady bag”. those things are sweet! and much better than paying 10-22 bucks for a Bisharat’s orig. poledancer.
Tye on a poledancer and better make sure youcan tye a knot…I woould trailer the boat if I lost one.
thanks for checking on the heads
