Thanks Will, greatly appreciate it.
Outcast, any thoughts on why GWs hanging so close to shore? One was caught near the jetties in Jacksonville a couple of years back.
Food source for adults and juveniles is the reason. A few do hang out on the Gulf Stream ledges, but most like it inside. Dolphin, turtles, whales are much easier than chasing tuna and swords.

Thanks for the reply. I wonder how much the metal(barges/tugs/streetcars) in the man made reefs has to do with attracting a large predator like a great white? There isn’t any large source off the jetties in Jacksonville Fl. though :
I just find it odd they are in so close. Maybe hunting seals in shallow water has an effect.
Either way, you got it going on and the work you do for better understanding their place in our world is top notch and appreciated.
Great white sharks are different than any of our others that we’re used to. Sometimes a tiger will stay in an area for months, but the whites are travelers. One day we have one off Charleston, the next day she’s off Savannah, then St Simons. They’re attracted to man made reefs, but they’re not camping out there all day like a tiger or bull. They cover more ground.
Saw the article…Ocearch isn’t a good source to where the white sharks are. They just spent 3 weeks at sea, working 3 states, and got skunked. They did catch one off the Jacksonville jetties 4-5 years ago, but they’ve worked that same area numerous times for days on end, chumming with whale meat and never got another.
